LIBRARIAN AT UCSD ELECTED
Brian E.C. Schottlaender, university librarian at the University of California, San Diego, was elected to the board of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) at the groupís fall membership meeting in Washington, D.C.
Schottlaender received his masterís degree in library science from Indiana University. He was one of 15 individuals in 1995 selected to attend the Senior Fellows Program at Long Island University, an executive development program founded by the Council on Library and Information Resources.
Prior to becoming university librarian at UCSD in 1999, Schottlaender was associate university librarian, Collections and Technical Services, at UCLA.
Schottlaender will serve a three-year term on the ARL board.
