The Preuss School at UC San Diego Ranked Among ‘Best’ by U.S. News & World Report

The Preuss School at the University of California, San Diego, was named among “America’s Best High Schools” by U.S. News & World Report in rankings released Dec. 10. The school was listed as ninth among the top 10 charter schools, and 32nd among all high schools in the country.

The Preuss School at UC San Diego is a middle and high school dedicated to providing an intensive college preparatory education for motivated low-income students who will become the first in their families to graduate from college. The school is jointly chartered by UC San Diego and the San Diego Unified School District.

Opened in 1999 with 150 students, the school currently has 746 students in grades six through 12th and a 2009 graduation class of 96 seniors. The past two years, 96 percent of each graduating class has been accepted to a college or university.
