Clinton Hopes to Spur Students Into Action at UCSD

But everyone – especially Dr. Don Kikkawa of UC San Diego Medical School – could see the problem from the photograph last week on the front page of the San Diego Union-Tribune. Nuria, a 10-year-old Afghan girl dressed in a traditional pink wrap, is missing an eye. Reading on, Kikkawa, chief of UCSD's eye reconstruction division, saw that the Camp Pendleton Marines who are patrolling Nuria’s town want to get her some help. More
