Wireless Sensor Watches Blood Sugar for Diabetics

, July 29 -- UC San Diego researchers have developed an implantable sensor that measures blood sugar continuously and transmits the information without wires -- a milestone, they said, in diabetes treatment. The device worked in one pig for more than a year and in another for nearly 10 months with no trouble, they reported in the journal Science Translational Medicine. More

Artists include Raul Guerrero, who has lived in San Diego for more than 20 years, was born near the Mexican border and grew up in National City. He graduated from Chouinard Art Institute in 1970 and has been teaching oil painting at UC San Diego for the past nine years. More
