Dr. Granet specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and eye alignment disorders at UC San Diego's Ratner Children's Eye Center at the Shiley Eye Center. Playhouse Revels in 'Sunshine' and Tony Nods
North County Times, May 5 -- It's been a good week for La Jolla Playhouse, which on Sunday announced it will produce a musical version of the Oscar-wining film "Little Miss Sunshine" as the final show of its 2010-2011 season, and on Tuesday learned that "Memphis," the rock 'n' roll musical that had its world premiere at the Playhouse in 2008, earned eight Tony nominations. Students Overcome Odds to Snag Scholarships
North County Times, May 5 -- When Adriana Ramos and Yovani Ramirez entered kindergarten, the odds against them even finishing high school seemed daunting. The idea each would attend college was highly unlikely. Now Ramirez, 18, was named a Dell Scholar and will receive a $20,000 award. He will attend UC San Diego, majoring in astrophysics. More
Golf Tourney Scheduled for Microfinancing Group's First Fundraiser
North County Times, May 5 -- Inspired by the adage about feeding a man for life by teaching him to fish, Fallbrook resident Rico Dence has created a nonprofit microfinancing group that he hopes some day could fund small businesses worldwide.
