Wins Siemens' Top Prize
USA Today, Dec. 7-A San Diego-area
teen won the top $100,000 individual scholarship Monday in the
Siemens Competition in Math, Science and Technology after creating
a gyroscopic generator. He was inspired by his volunteer work
at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

educators and patient advocates gathered yesterday to begin
figuring out how to distribute $3 billion in state funding for
stem cell research, but it quickly became clear the job will

respected researchers and medical professionals with a proven
