N.J. Gov. Urges Bush to
End Stem-Cell Restrictions
Reuters, Jan. 25-New Jersey's Acting
Gov.Richard Codey on Tuesday urged President Bush to lift restrictions
on federal funding for stem cell research given a recent report
that says that available human embryonic stem cells are contaminated.
Citing UCSD research released on Sunday in
the journal nature medicine. Codey said the available stem cells
were contaminated with an animal molecule and may not be suitable
to treat people. More
