uncovers truth behind wartime security slur
Nature, January 23 – Scripps
Institution of Oceanography researcher Walter
Munk recently published an account of events surrounding

prompted the US government to strip him of his security clearance
six decades ago. Munk won back his military
security clearance soon after it was pulled with help from leading
scientists who wrote to the government. UCSD
history professor Naomi Oreskes also wrote
about the affair.
