Humanitas Prizes Awarded
Los Angeles Times, June 27 -- The Getty Foundation on Tuesday announced its grant of more than $2 million to aid preservation of structures and grounds at college campuses around the country. UCSD, the University of Texas at Austin and Marlboro College in Vermont were among other grant winners. More
Potential Cancer Fighting Organism in Bahamian Waters
Bahama Journal, June 27 -- UCSD researchers say they have sequenced the genome of an organism found in Bahamian waters which they believe has the potential to treat certain types of cancers. In other words, they now understand how the genes of this organism are controlled. More
