Dozens of Temblors Hit Under the Salton Sea
San Diego Union-Tribune, March 25 – Dozens of earthquakes have occurred under the Salton Sea since last weekend, including a 4.8 magnitude temblor shortly before 5 a.m. yesterday. Scientists say it's a long shot the temblors could trigger a large quake along the southern end of the nearby San Andreas Fault. “I don't want to sensationalize this event,” said geophysicist Neal Driscoll, who has been studying the geology around the sea with Scripps Institution of Oceanography colleague Graham Kent for four years. “Whether these are telling us something will happen, we just don't know.” More

Through the Gordon Foundation, Bernard and Sophia Gordon contributed $2.5 million. Included in the center's plans are leadership courses and forums led by engineering leaders in industry, government, military and academia. More
