Opposition
voiced over lagoon project
San Diego Union-Tribune, May 16 –
Opponents of a wetland restoration project have demanded proof
that dredging San Dieguito Lagoon would not damage the beach
they treasure. About a dozen people, some with homes near the
lagoon mouth, spoke at length about their concerns during a
community meeting to ease people's fears. (Quotes Scott
Jenkins, a panelist and consultant on the project who
works for Scripps Institution of Oceanography).
