, May 27 -- Dowling's historic baseball season came to end with a 13-1 loss to UCSD at the double-elimination Division II College World Series Wednesday in Cary, N.C. The Golden Lions (35-18), ranked 21st in the nation, were in the College World Series for the first time. Top-ranked UCSD broke open a 2-1 game with a six-run, two-out rally in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the Tritons (41-14) outhit Dowling, 21-3. More
