C. Reed, the head of the Burnham Institute in La Jolla, was
appointed yesterday to the new committee overseeing the California
Institute for Regenerative Medicine established by Proposition
71 - the stem cell research initiative that voters approved
Nov. 2. At least one more person on the committee will come
from San Diego. UCSD is one of five University
of California campuses with medical schools that will be appointing
one member each.
