UCSD Surgeons Remove Part of Stomach Through Vagina
Voice of San Diego, Oct. 1 -- Earlier this year, a team of renowned surgeons at the university's Center for the Future of Surgery at the UCSD Medical Center was the first in the nation to remove an appendix through the mouth and an appendix through the vagina. This month, the same team of surgeons performed the nation's first gastrectomy -- a partial removal of the stomach for weight loss -- through the vagina. More
