Three Local Colleges to take Gulf Students
San Diego Union-Tribune, Sept. 2-Three San Diego universities are the latest to join dozens of colleges offering last-minute admission to students whose Gulf Coast schools were hit by Hurricane Katrina. UCSD, SDSU, and USD say they will be able to accommodate dozens of students. Some of the schools are trying to expedite the application process for the fall term, where classes began this week. More

Dad's the Link for Childhood Asthma
Forbes, Sept. 1-Asthmatic children whose fathers have a history of the disease are at a greater risk of developing a severe asthma-related breathing difficulty than children whose fathers were always asthma-free, new research by the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston finds.
