WMAQ, Chicago, Ill. Sept. 4 -- So last year, at 5 feet 4 inches tall and 185 pounds, Kathy Angel joined a weight loss research study called "Teen Pace." Each day for a year, she could track her diet and keep an exercise log on a UCSD Web site. She was given a cell phone to choose her meals. More
Stem Cell Board Adds Salk COO
San Diego Union-Tribune, Sept. 5-- Marsha Chandler, chief operating officer of the Salk Institute in La Jolla, has been appointed to the oversight board of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine. She fills the board vacancy created when Richard Murphy, former president of the Salk, retired July 1. Before joining Salk, Chandler was senior vice chancellor of academic affairs of UCSD. More
