Quakes No Cause for Alarm, Scientists Say
North County Times, Sept. 12 -- The mild earthquakes that have given residents in San Diego and Riverside counties the shakes in the last several days were cause more for amusement than alarm, scientists said Tuesday.

There is no reason to fear that the Big One is lurking around the corner, they said.
The chance that a destructive quake will strike Southern California right now is roughly "the same chance we have every day of our lives," said Bernard Minster, a UCSD earthquake scientist, in a telephone interview. More
