Surgeons Remove Gallbladder
Fox News, Sept. 14 -- Surgeons at the UCSD  Medical Center successfully removed a patient's gallbladder through her vagina.

The procedure was the first clinical trial surgery in the Southwest to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of performing abdominal procedures through the body’s natural openings. More

Grades Probed At Renowned School
KNSD, Sept. 13 -- An award-winning principal and academic advisor of the nationally renowned Preuss School are on paid leave while auditors investigate allegations of grade irregularities, NBC 7/39 reported.

Principal Doris Alvarez and Phil Ensberg were put on paid leave on Wednesday. Ensberg is Alvarez's son-in-law, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. More

U.S. Climate Office Called Inadequate on Many Levels
San Diego Union Tribune, Sept. 14 --  The federal office that oversees the nation's research on global warming is inadequate on many levels and some of its tools are falling apart, according to a critique issued yesterday by a committee of the National Research Council.
