‘Tera-Grid’ to offer on-demand supercomputing

April 23 – The National Science Foundation will begin to set up hardware for the so-called Tera-Grid, a transcontinental supercomputer, at four sites including UCSD’s San Diego Supercomputer Center.

April 22 – Wireless fidelity, an inexpensive method of creating wireless networks in homes and businesses, is slowly becoming popular in public areas such as coffee shops and hotels.  The UCSD campus has one of the biggest Wi-Fi networks in San Diego.
