Sunlight,
a cancer protector in the guise of a villain?
New York Times, Aug. 6, Pg. 5 In contrast
to the warnings about tanning and skin cancer, some scientists
have been exploring the notion that sunlight may actually protect
against other cancers. The theory is that vitamin D, which the
skin produces when exposed to sunshine, somehow prevents the growth

Stress
heart-felt stress can be more dangerous to immune system
NewsRx.com, Aug.5 People who react to stress
more in their heart than in their vascular system are more likely
to suffer immune system problems, according to a UCSD study
by postgraduate researcher Noha H. Farag, MD. The findings
are published in the August issue of Brain, Behavior and Immunity.

Conference
attracts range of scholars to address global issues

will host the 52nd Pugwash conference next weekend. Participants
