, Nov. 30 -- Tomorrow is World AIDS day – an international day of activism against HIV and AIDS.  About 40 million people around the world – and about 5,000 in San Diego County - are living with HIV or AIDS. Today, student activists at UCSD held a tribute to those who’ve lost their lives to the disease. Heather Hill has the story. More

Seniors Direct UCSD vs. Cal in Final Four

Third-seeded UCSD faces No. 2 Cal in the semifinals tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Anonymously Funded, Prize Goal Is Local Artist Recognition

, Dec. 1 – The San Diego Art Prize is a work in progress. It has funding for three years and a dedicated space for its first year of exhibitions, L Street Fine Art, courtesy of downtown's Omni Hotel. It's had a good start, with awards being handed out to three of the city's highly accomplished artists who all are on the UCSD Visual Arts faculty: Raul Guerrero, Jean Lowe and Ernest Silva. Three emerging artists are being honored as well, including UCSD students Yvonne Venegas and Iana Quesnell. More

U.S. Coal Research Program Grants Awarded

, Nov. 30 -- The U.S. Department of Energy says six projects, including one at UCSD, will receive nearly $2.4 million in funding under its University Coal Research Program. More
