Mind recollected: experimental gene therapy aims to restore functions lost to Alzheimer’s.

Feb. 13 - Lola Crosswhite became one of the first people to try a new gene therapy for Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Mark H. Tuszynski, Dr. Hoi Sang U and Dr. Leon Thal, neuroscientists and doctors from UCSD and the Veterans Administration Medical Center, conducted the procedure. The article chronicles the day of her operation.

National has largest local endowment
San Diego Daily Transcript,
Feb. 13 - National University’s endowment ranked highest among San Diego area colleges and universities with $160 million. UCSD Foundation has a $154 million endowment. USD has $96 million and SDSU $59 million.
