New
test reads cardiac distress signals
San Diego Union Tribune, July 18 Research
led by Alan Maisel, UCSD associate professor of
medicine, found that a new test that measures the distress signal
from a failing heart can save thousands of lives by helping
emergency-room doctors avoid misdiagnosing the potentially fatal
condition. The study was published in todays New England
Journal of Medicine.
