Scientist: Local Sea Level Could Rise 3 Feet
NBC San Diego, June 28 -- Temperatures in San Diego have been reaching record highs and some residents believe global warming could be to blame. Walter Munk, a professor emeritus at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography said global warming is a real problem and San Diegans will see the effects in the next 100 years. $9.5 Million Grant for Heart Research
San Diego Union-Tribune, June 29 -- San Diego State University has received a $9.5 million grant to study how the protection of mitochondria can preserve heart cells during a heart attack. The five-year grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute will provide roughly $2 million each year for research projects conducted at the university, UCSD and the Scripps Research Institute, university officials said. Rady is a financial executive who ranks 365th on the Forbes list of the wealthiest Americans. It is his name on UCSD's Rady School of Management. More
