May 10 – Feature on UCSD Chancellor Robert Dynes’ visit to Imperial County.  Chancellor Dynes was the keynote speaker at the College Going Initiative conference for educators.  He also addressed students at Holtville Middle School about academic outreach initiatives at UCSD.

Intelligent sensor technology shows way to safety, savings

Scripps, wildlife fund unite to save marine habitats

May 15 -- Scripps Institution of Oceanography has joined with the World Wildlife Fund to save some of the most threatened marine environments in the world. The collaboration is called “Partnership for Sea Change.” (Quotes Nancy Knowlton, director of the Center for Marine Biodiversity and Conservation at Scripps).
