State Water Board Presents Grant at Oceans Conference
The Log, Oct. 18 -- State Water Resources Control Board Vice Chair Gerald D. Secundy presented a check for $3.6 million for the La Jolla Shores Ocean Protection Project at the California and the World Oceans '06 Conference Sept. 17-20. The partners in the project include UCSD's Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the city of San Diego and the San Diego Coastkeeper. More
City Council's Voting on Clean Water Rated a B
San Diego Union-Tribune, Oct. 19 -- The San Diego City Council got a B grade for votes related to clean water and coastal conservation during the past year, the environmental group Coastkeeper announced yesterday. Yesterday's report card was prepared for San Diego-based Coastkeeper by Strategic Community Consulting, which is managed by graduate students at UCSD. More
