CÉSAR E. CHÁVEZ COMMEMORATIVE STAMP TO BE UNVEILED APRIL 21

The César E. Chávez Commemorative Stamp will be unveiled at noon April 21 in the Price Center Plaza at the University of California, San Diego. The public is invited.

The stamp unveiling is one in a month-long series of events, Celebrate, Educate, Serve, during April at UCSD celebrating the life and achievements of labor leader and champion of human rights César E. Chávez, the principal figure in the Chicano Civil Rights Movement.

Participating in the stamp dedication and unveiling will be Edward G. Carmona, Hispanic program coordinator for the U.S. Post Office, and Michael Kanone, public affairs officer for the U.S. Post Office.

Representing UCSD will be Jorge Mariscal, director of the UCSD Chicano/a-Latino/a Arts and Humanities Program and co-chair of the César E. Chávez Celebration Planning Committee; Elizabeth Urtecho, director of the Student Office for Human Relations, and Nicholas Aguilar, director of Student Policy & Judicial Affairs.
