SAN DIEGO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL SCHEDULES 11 SCREENINGS IN APRIL AT UCSD

The San Diego International Film Festival (SDIFF) – featuring a total of 27 films from 17 countries – continues through June 4 at the University of California, San Diego.

Eleven films are scheduled in April.  They include: Dreamlife of Angels (France), April 13; Brother (Russia) and The Shoe (Latvia/Germany), April 15; Pianese Nunzio (Fourteen in May) (Italy) and Burnt by Frost (Norway), April 20; Better Living (USA) and River of Gold (Portugal), April 27; Chalo America (India) and Fishing with Ghandi (USA), April 28, and David’s Summer (Italy) and Passion (Hungary), April 29.

Each of these films will have their San Diego screening exclusively in UCSD’s Mandeville Auditorium.   They will not be shown in local theaters.

Sponsored by UCSD’s University Events Office, SDIFF is in its 15th season.  Ruth Baily is artistic director.  The first film of each evening will be screened at 7 p.m., the second feature at 9:15 p.m.  General admission to each screening is $6 and $4 for students.  Parking at UCSD is $3 on weekday evenings.  For information call 534-0497 or check the Web Site at http://ueo.ucsd.edu/ueo/1999callforentries.html.
