UCSD STUDENTS TO PRESENT MUSICAL PERFORMANCE APRIL 10-12

The musical comedy How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying will be presented by the Muir College Musical Ensemble at the University of California, San Diego April 10, 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Mandeville Auditorium.

The Muir Musical Ensemble is the only completely student produced musical theater event on campus. This year’s production is directed by Revelle senior Sheida Falahatpisheh and is comprised of a production team of 20, a cast of 25 and an orchestra of 31.

The comedy, originally written by Abe Burrows with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, opened on Broadway in 1961, with a revival done in 1995 starring Matthew Broderick. How to Succeed takes place in the late 50’s and relates the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch up the corporate ladder from lowly window washer to high-powered executive. The satire of the business world has subplots that keep the show moving, matched with a catchy, witty and upbeat score.

Tickets are available at the UCSD Box office, the Muir College Center, and at the door for $6 for students, $7 for staff and $8 for general admission.
