11 Assistant Professors at UCSD Receive
2007-2008 Hellman Faculty Fellows Awards

Eleven assistant professors at the University of California, San Diego have been named recipients of the 2007-2008 Hellman Faculty Fellows Awards to support their research and creative activities.
Recipients in the Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences Divisions and the Jacobs School of Engineering are Alexander Hoffmann, chemistry and biochemistry; Terunaga Nakagawa, chemistry and biochemistry; Maho Niwa, molecular biology; Joseph Pogliano, molecular biology, and Deli Wang, electrical and computer engineering.
Recipients in the Arts and Humanities and Social Sciences Divisions are Stephen Anagnostaras, psychology; Amelia Glaser, literature; Gerald Mackie, political science; Isaac Martin, sociology; Kwai Ng, sociology, and Rebecca Plant, history.
Funded by Chris and Warren Hellman, the Hellman Faculty Fellows Awards are given to support the research and creative activities of promising assistant professors who show capacity for great distinction in their work.
