UCSD PROFESSOR OF LITERATURE ELECTED TO NATIONAL COUNCIL OF AMERICAN STUDIES ASSOCIATION

Lisa Lowe, professor of comparative literature and chair of the Department of Literature at the University of California, San Diego, has been elected to a three-year term on the National Council of American Studies Association. The term runs from July 1, 2001 to June, 2004.

Lowe has been on the UCSD faculty since 1986. She received a bachelor’s degree in history from Stanford University, and a Ph.D. in literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
