Several Standout Women Among Inductees to the San Diego Women’s Hall of FameCommunity partners to hold 9th annual ceremony and dinner march 27, 2010 March 19, 2010
The San Diego County Women’s Hall of Fame will welcome several standout San Diego women at its 9th annual induction ceremony and dinner, next week, March 27, 2010 at UC San Diego’s Price Center Ballroom East from 5 to 8 p.m. The event is open to the public and honors and acknowledges women who have significantly contributed to the quality of life and have made outstanding volunteer contributions in San Diego County. Awards are granted in the areas of empowerment, activism, trailblazing, cultural competency and historical preservation. This year’s inductees include:
“This is a diverse group of women whose selfless contributions have advanced social justice and have made a lasting impact on our communities,” said campus diversity officer and director of the UC San Diego Women’s Center, Dr. Emelyn dela Peña. “Their legacies are an example of how the Hall of Fame embodies UC San Diego’s Principles of Community.” Inductees are available for interviews now and on the night of the event.
