With turmoil widespread in the U.S. economy the views of Peter Hooper, Managing Director and Chief Economist of Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc, and a veteran of 26 years at the Federal Reserve Board, will be particularly timely when he speaks at the UC San Diego Economics Roundtable on April 22.
Currently overseeing a team of economists who analyze and forecast developments in the U.S. economy and financial markets, Hooper has been Chief Economist at Deutsche Bank since 2006. Earlier in his career he held numerous positions at the Federal Reserve Bank in Washington, DC, including work as an economist on the Fed’s Open Market Committee and as Deputy Director of International Finance, in which assignments he became intimately familiar with the Fed’s policy-making process.
Hooper has published numerous books, journal articles and reviews on economics and policy issues. He earned a Ph.D in Economics from the University of Michigan.
The Economics Roundtable will be held at the Faculty Club on the UCSD campus, beginning at 7:30 a.m. The public is invited and the fee of $50 covers parking, breakfast and the presentation.
