Digital Arts Expert Susan Varnum

Susan Varnum has joined the University of California San Diego Extension as the director of the Digital Arts Center. She oversees continuing education certificate programs in Digital Graphics & Web Design and Video, Sound & Motion Graphics.
Varnum has a background in post production as a 3D animator, compositor and motion graphics artist. She worked on national ad campaigns for clients such as Sony, Ford and Coors, music videos for MTV, had commercials debut on the Super Bowl, and headed up the graphics department at the Discovery Channel Television Center.
Varnum has experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level as well as experience in education management as the chair of the Computer Animation BFA and MFA programs, Visual Effects and Motion Graphics, and Web Design and Interactive Media at The Art Institutes.
She holds a BFA in Studio Art from Lawrence University and earned her MFA in computer animation at the Savannah College of Art & Design.
