UCSD Statement Re: Preuss School Bus Accident

A school bus carrying 41 UCSD Preuss School students overturned this morning on northbound Interstate 5 just south of Genesee Avenue. According to Preuss School officials, 37 students were taken to nearby hospitals, some with minor injuries, and four students returned to school. The parents of the students involved have been notified and a crisis center has been established at the school with UCSD and Preuss School counselors. The Preuss School holds a very special place in the hearts of all of us at UCSD. We empathize with Preuss School students, parents, and staff during this time of crisis, and are hopeful that those students who sustained minor injuries will recover and rejoin us very soon.
