Academic Internship Program To
Hold Anniversary Open House October 14

By Pat JaCoby

The Academic Internship Program will mark its 30th anniversary and a move to a new campus location during an open house event to be held Oct. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Formerly located in room 3255, Literature Building, the AIP staff has moved to room 3210 of the Literature Building on the Warren College campus.

AIP is an academic department providing UCSD students with the opportunity to earn university credit for internships related to their career interests and field of study.

Elise Tiregol, director, noted that for 30 years AIP has connected students with internships in the San Diego community. Originally designed for the Warren College students, the Academic Internship Program later made its service available to undergraduates from all colleges and currently provides opportunities to juniors and seniors from all colleges and majors. Tiregol said the AIP now offers specialized programs that include Washington D.C., London, UC Sacramento and the Pacific Rim Undergraduate Experience, and continues to develop additional U.S. and international venues.

Further information on the program can be found at http://aip.ucsd.edu .
