"Your Votes Will Tell" is the Topic of Community
Forum with Writer Neil Morgan at UCSD Sept. 26

By Pat JaCoby

A pre-election community forum with Neil Morgan, well-known San Diego newspaper columnist, author and editor, on the topic Onward to Where: Part 2 – Your Votes Will Tell, will be held at 7 pm. Sept. 26 in the Price Center Ballroom at the University of California, San Diego.

Sponsored by the UCSD Helen Edison Lecture Series and voiceofsandiego.org, the meeting is free and open to the public. No reservations are required.

Joining Morgan on stage will be Shannon Bradley, producer of Public Affairs for UCSD-TV.

“As he has done for the last 56 years with his insightful commentary as a San Diego journalist, Neil will most certainly further illuminate our understanding of the region’s past, present and future state of affairs,” said Mary Walshok, associate vice chancellor of Extended Studies. Onward to Where—Your Votes Will Tell follows an earlier “Part 1” dialogue Morgan and Walshok held after the June primary.

Morgan now serves as the senior editor for voiceofsandiego.org, which distinguished newsman Walter Cronkite has described as a “media first…a non-partisan town hall website where everybody has an equal chance to decide what is news about San Diego.”

The longtime San Diego columnist has donated his substantial collection of manuscripts, notes, newspaper column and letters spanning 54 years to the Mandeville Special Collections Library at UCSD.

For additional information on the Sept. 26 talk please call 858 822-0510.
