CALENDAR ANNOUNCEMENT


Oct. 8, 2003 Author Samantha Power, awarded the 2003 Pulitzer Prize in non-fiction, will be the featured convocation speaker as Eleanor Roosevelt College at the University of California, San Diego, celebrates the opening of its new campus. Power, a lecturer in public policy at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, will
speak on America and the Age of Genocide. Topics covered in her lecture will include the Holocaust, genocide in Armenia, Rwanda and Bosnia, as well as Iraqi attacks on the Kurds. The lecture--free and open to the public-- will be held at 7 p.m. in UCSD’s RIMAC Arena.
