SDSC Director Fran Berman To Speak At
8th Annual Gilder/Forbes Telecosm Conference
Joins

to Debate Issues and Opportunities in the Global Telecosm

Fran Berman,
director of the San Diego Supercomputer Center, has been selected
by the hosts of the 8th Annual Gilder/Forbes Telecosm Conference
to speak at the annual event held Oct. 19-20. Hosted by Steve
Forbes and George Gilder, editor-in-chief of the Gilder Technology
Report, the theme of Telecosm 2004 is celebrating human creativity,
restoring the broadband economy and uniting the microcosm and
telecosm in the new era of all-optical networks, spectronic
wireless as well as integrated electronics and optics.
A renowned expert
in grid computing, Dr. Berman will provide insight and vision
as a panel member discussing, “Critical Infrastructure:
Internet traffic, bandwidth, architecture and management.”
Moderated by Gilder and Charlie Burger, technology analyst at
the Gilder Technology Report, Berman will be joined by other
luminaries such as Glenn Edens, director of Sun Microsystems
Laboratories and internet traffic expert, Andrew Odlyzko, from
the University of Minnesota.
