“UCSD Near You” Program is Taking Off!
First Stop: San Diego On March 2nd

The University of California, San Diego is launching an exciting new initiative, to bring together UCSD alumni, parents and friends across the country. This nationwide tour, UCSD Near You, will kick off in San Diego at UCSD’s Great Hall, Wednesday, March 2 at 6:00 p.m. and will feature a lively dialogue with Chancellor Marye Anne Fox.

Chancellor Fox will discuss her vision for the future of the university, and attendees will share their personal experiences and ideas with the new chancellor. From March through July, eight informal receptions across the country will feature Chancellor Fox; future UCSD Near You tours will highlight prominent faculty, campus leaders and current students.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for me to engage our extended UCSD family all across the country,” said Chancellor Fox. “I look forward to hearing the ways that a UCSD education has enhanced the lives of our alumni, and I am eager to gain an even greater understanding of the attributes that make this institution so outstanding.”

“Strengthening our relationships with alumni and friends from coast to coast is a vital component to the success of our university,” said Vice Chancellor of External Relations James M. Langley. “We are eager to reconnect with our alumni and have an open dialogue about what’s next for this campus.”

UCSD Near You is presented by the UCSD Alumni Association and The Campaign for UCSD: Imagine What’s Next. Tour dates include:

• San Diego – March 2, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at The Great Hall, UCSD
• Los Angeles – March 17, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at The Regency Club
• Silicon Valley – April 5, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at NASA Ames Exploration Center
• San Francisco – April 6, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe
• Orange County – April 21, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Shady Canyon Country Club
• New York City – April 27, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at The Royalton
• Boston – May 10, 6:00 p.m. – 7: 30 p.m., at The State Room
• Sacramento – date and location to be determined
