UCSD Chancellor Robert Dynes will greet attendees and present diplomas to the graduates. Ceremonies on June 17 will begin with 8:30 a.m. rites for graduates of Thurgood Marshall and Muir colleges, followed at 9 a.m. with Eleanor Roosevelt College graduation. Judith Kulinski, a sociology major from Rancho Santa Fe, will address her fellow Marshall College graduates, while Muir student speakers include Natalie E. Edrosolan, a political science major from Newbury Park, Ca.; Kirsten Lynn Woods, a biology major from Novato, Ca., and Joshua Caplan, a human development major from Canoga Park, Ca. Revelle and Warren colleges will hold their commencements at 3 p.m. Journalists Judith and Neil Morgan, authors of a biography about UCSD founder Roger Revelle, and student Ian Stewart from Arcadia, Ca., will be guest speakers at the Revelle ceremony. Warren College students will hear an address by graduating senior Nicolette Haritatos of La Jolla, a mechanical aerospace and engineering major. The all-campus ceremony on RIMAC Field will begin with a welcome by Chancellor Dynes, followed by greetings from Regent Peter Preuss and Academic Senate Chair Douglas Magde. A.S. President Khalegi will introduce Adams, whose work with pediatric patients was dramatized by Robin Williams in a 1998 film, "Patch Adams." The Jason Robinson Sextet will perform before the program and the UCSD Gospel Choir, directed by Kenneth Anderson, will offer selections during the program. Degrees will be conferred by Chancellor Dynes and the college provosts. Free water and snacks will be available to guests on RIMAC Field during the day, while concession stands will offer coffee and sandwiches. Parking and shuttle services will be provided free of charge for the all-campus and college ceremonies. Traffic congestion is anticipated, so guests are urged to arrive early.
