CHAIR MASSAGES, STRESS MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES Thoughts of final exams in college usually go hand-in-hand with increasing anxiety, pressure, and stress. This finals week, beginning March 18, at the University of California, San Diego, students will be offered a chance to unwind and receive a much-kneaded break – free chair massages and stress management techniques available at two campus library sites. Chair massages will be available in the foyer of Geisel Library from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, March 18 and 20. On Tuesday, March 19, chair massages will be available from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Center for Library & Instructional Computing Services (CLICS) on the Revelle College campus. The services will be offered by Psychological & Counseling Services and UCSD Libraries in cooperation with the International Professional School of Bodywork. Dr. Bruce Meyer, director of Psychological & Counseling Services, says the services offered during the week of final exams are intended as a tangible expression of moral support, while offering students an opportunity to learn about the benefits of massage and other healthful methods of relaxation and stress management. Psychologists from Psychological & Counseling Services will be available each day to help students tailor stress management techniques to their individual needs. For further information contact Meyer at (858) 534-3755.
