Vanpool seats are currently available from a number of San Diego Communities to UCSD, according to Penny Baxter, Rideshare Operations, UCSD Transportation and Parking Services. These communities include Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Penasquitos, Cardiff, Encinitas and East San Diego.

Transportation and Parking Services is also recruiting riders interested in starting a vanpool from Temecula.

Vanpoolers are given an "Occasional Use" permit, which provides up to 10 days of complimentary parking per month, for use on days when they must drive their own vehicle. They also are eligible for UCSD’s Emergency Ride Home Program and possible discounts on their personal auto insurance.
