                                   Calendar Announcement

January 27, 2005 - William Drozdiak, President of the American Council on
Germany, will address “U.S.-European Relations in the Aftermath of the U.S. Elections: Further Estrangement or Reconciliation,” as part of the European Studies Speaker Series sponsored by the University of California, San Diego Institute for International, Comparative & Area Studies. The talk, free and open to the public, will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, in room 107 of the Social Sciences Building on the UCSD campus. Drozdiak served for over 20 years as foreign correspondent, foreign editor, and chief European correspondent for the Washington Post, including two stints in Germany. Prior to joining the Washington Post, he was a correspondent for Time Magazine and the Washington Star.
