New Guide Seeks to Advance DNA Library of Marine Species

Science & Environment

Scientists have created a new guide to advance standards for collecting and cataloging DNA from marine species, enhancing a revolutionary method for monitoring ocean biodiversity. A team of 15 scientists, including several from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, contributed to the guide.

During his CADRE internship, he worked in the lab of Christine Smith, Ph.D., investigating amnesia in patients with traumatic brain injuries.

After discovering a love of anatomy in high school, Alec Guerra was inspired to become a doctor. Through his CADRE internship in the lab of Sara Gianella, MD, he participated in several autopsies as part of ongoing research investigating how HIV persists in tissues throughout the human body.
