Physical changes in the brain affect our personalities, temperaments and what we can know. Using insights gained from research with neuroimaging techniques, UC San Diego Professor of Cognitive Science Terry Jernigan will show how the brain adapts in response to disease, drugs and life experiences when she addresses the UCSD Social Sciences Supper Club on May 13. The public is invited to attend.
Jernigan has been conducting research on the human brain since the late 1970’s. She is director of the Center for Human Development and teaches courses on cognitive neuroscience, brain development and brain imaging. In addition to her work on brain development, she has a focus on aging and neurodevelopment disorders.
The Social Sciences Supper Club will be held on Wednesday, May 13, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the UCSD Faculty Club. The $65 charge includes a wine reception, dinner and parking in addition to the presentation. Reservations or additional information may be obtained from Dana Williams, (858)-822-6694 or dkwilliams@ucsd.edu.
