Mark Snell,
Chief Financial Officer, Sempra Global Energy
Enterprises, To Discuss Utility Economics At UCSD, February
18

Utility operations,
their economics, how the grid works, why it fails and what has
been done to ensure safe and continuous operations will be among
subjects discussed by Mark Snell, Chief Financial Officer of
Sempra Global Energy Enterprises, when he addresses the UCSD
Economics Roundtable February 18 to be held beginning at 7:30
a. m. at the Faculty Club on the University of California, San
Diego campus. Mr. Snell will speak in place of the originally
scheduled Sempra Energy CEO, Stephen L. Baum who had a schedule
conflict. The event is open to the public.
Sempra Energy, a San
Diego based Fortune 500 utility, provides natural gas and electricity
to more than 28 million global customers. Under its subsidiary,
SDG&E, the firm has supplied gas and electricity to San
Diego for generations. Sempra Energy has 12,000 employees serving
customers in the United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico, South
America and Asia. As CFO, Snell oversees the planning, business
development and all financial matters for Sempra Global Energy
Enterprises, the umbrella organization for all of Sempra's growth
businesses. Snell, a long time utility and financial executive
previously served as vice president of planning and development
for Sempra Energy.
Snell holds a bachelor's
degree in accounting from San Diego State University and is
a certified public accountant.
