Political Experts To Discuss November
Election
At
UCSD Social Sciences Supper Club, Oct. 19
Leading authorities on California and San Diego politics will be the featured speakers at a University of California, San Diego Social Sciences Supper Club meeting on October 19. The event is open to the public.
Professor Steven Erie, a well-known and widely respected expert on urban affairs, particularly the government and politics of San Diego and Los Angeles, will be joined by a top specialist in California policy and politics, assistant professor Thad Kousser. Both scholars are members of the highly regarded UCSD Department of Political Science and each is frequently quoted in press coverage of city and state government. The program will be moderated by Paul Drake, dean of social sciences at UCSD, and himself a leading political scientist.
The speakers will address the possible impact on Governor Schwarzenegger of issues he caused to be placed on the November ballot and will assess the race for Mayor in San Diego, among many other topics.
The Social Sciences Supper Club will be held at the Faculty Club on the UCSD campus, and reservations are required. The cost, which includes the program, dinner and parking, is $65 per person.
