Jennings (858) 822-1684 Sohail Humayun Hashmi, chair of the International Relations Program and Alumnae Foundation associate professor at Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, Mass., will lecture at 7 p.m. in Center Hall, Room 115. The event is free and open to the public. Hashmi has written numerous articles on Islamic ethics and international relations and is currently completing a book, The Islamic Ethics of War and Peace. He also has edited or co-edited five books, the most recent, Islamic Political Ethics: Civil Society, Pluralism, and Conflict (Princeton, 2002). Hashmi’s lecture is being
presented by UCSD’s Rivers of Paradise Endowment, the Middle East
Studies Program, and the Burke Lectureship on Religion and Society. For
