UC San Diego Health System Reaches New Heights with ‘Topping Out’ of Jacobs Medical Center

Today, UC San Diego celebrates the “topping out” of UC San Diego Jacobs Medical Center, a new state-of-the-art facility that will transform health care in California. Slated for completion in 2016, Jacobs Medical Center, a technology-rich, 10-story facility, is currently the largest hospital project in Southern California, and one that is destined to change the face of health care in San Diego. Four Staff Members Recognized for 40 Years of Service as part of Awards Ceremony

Collectively contributing more than 16.8 million hours to UC San Diego, nearly 500 staff members were recognized for their outstanding service and dedication at the 46th Annual Service Awards held Oct. 14 in the Price Center West ballroom. Prospective Transfer Students Learn About Pathways to UC San Diego at Series of Outreach Events

Hillary Fitzmaurice, currently a student at Fullerton College in Orange County, hopes to study linguistics at UC San Diego. “I plan on applying for next fall and am very excited about the opportunities available for research,” she said. Fitzmaurice was one of the 160 prospective transfer students who attended the campus’s “Transfer Friday” event Oct. 11.
